electrolatino vibe

This evening show was dedicated to latinamerican rhythms, to the flavor of latin fire, caribbean grooves and their fusion with electronic beats.

The local flavor of tonight's show was highly focused in the city of Bogota. As the capital of Colombia, Bogota is a point of intersection of the sounds that are emerging in the other regions of the country.

The tour through the latin electronica started with the music made by Señor Coconut y su Conjunto and his parody of Kraftwerk Autobahn in a cumbia style. It is interesting to realize how the cumbia genre that originated in the caribean coast of Colombia became onw of the most important rhythms to fussion with electronica and as well to be adapted in different latinamerican countries such as Argentina, PEru, Chile, and Mexico.

Celso Piña, el ¨rebelde del acordeon¨ was also in tonight´s show with his track ¨Cumbia sobre el Rio." After that, we moved to Colombia, and we stayed there for the rest of the show. We listened to Bomba Estereo's new track "Fuego," Sidestepper's "Hoy tenermos," champetas from Sayayin and Messie Boogalu, Pernett's "The Caribbean Raver," Chob Quib Town "Pescao Envenenao," and Sidestepper's "Me gustas."

As a bonus, we ended with the electro-tropical version of "Tour de France" by Señor Coconut.
